Our Directors and Staff

Rebecca Clacher

Managing Director

Rebecca’s life completely changed after having a child, and she never went back to her previous career in higher education. She trained in baby signing, antenatal education and breastfeeding support, and this journey led to taking on The Nest in September 2022. Rebecca found early motherhood very lonely, and this inspired her passion for supporting parents. Aside from her work at The Nest, she is also a doula, supports parents after birth trauma, and is an introducing solids facilitator.

Rebecca founded the local breastfeeding group in 2021, which now runs here at The Nest. She also runs Boogie Time which she loves!

Rebecca grew up in Holmfirth but spent a lot of her adult life in Oxford and Leeds. She now lives with her husband and daughter (now 7), and in her spare time loves singing, dancing, festivals, being in nature, and anything a bit hippy!

Holly Carr

Operations Lead and Director

Holly joined the team at The Nest as a Director and Operations Lead in March 2024. Holly says,

I am so proud to be a part of helping others find their way in parenthood, especially after experiencing the benefits of finding a supportive ‘village’ from coming to The Nest in the early stages of my Motherhood journey, when I was finding things really difficult.

Holly grew up in Holmfirth, before spending her twenties living in New Zealand. She now lives in Cinderhills with her husband, daughter Noa (1.5) and their tabby cat Loki. Holly’s background is in Fashion & Textiles and she also works as a freelance seamstress. She loves making things, being in nature, cooking and thrifting secondhand gems for her home renovation.

Cicely Jackson

Social Media Manager

Cicely is a content creator with a background in styling. She became a childminder when her daughter was born until her son was born, when she found her passion in content creation and social media management. Cicely says,

I love being part of The Nest because it is such an important part of our local community. I would have absolutely loved to have something like The Nest after I gave birth to my children, to build a village & connections with other local parents. My children have benefitted from The Nest as somewhere to meet with family & play, as well as hiring out for birthday parties.

Cicely lives in Holmfirth with her husband and two children (aged 4 & 7). In her spare time she loves secondhand shopping, crocheting & spending time outside with her family.

Maddy Maddock

Director

Maddy had a 10 year career in publishing before stepping away and committing to family life full time once her children arrived. Maddy is passionate about parenting, motherhood and childhood. She says,

I love being part of The Nest community. Becoming a parent is such a significant journey and a huge part of life. Providing the essential support that we need during this time is pivotal to our (and our children’s) health and happiness - and let’s have some fun together along the way! It’s a real privilege to spend time with everyone who accesses The Nest, to share our stories, challenges and successes. Parenthood is a journey we make together.

Maddy lives in Holmfirth with her husband and two children. She loves art, gardening, walking, nature, food and sharing all these with her friends and family. Maddy’s motto for this year… quality over quantity.
