FAQs

Where is The Nest?

The Nest is on the top floor of a big community building, called Holmfirth Tech. The address is 140 Huddersfield Road, HD9 3AR - you can click here to view on Google Maps. The Tech is the big building by the fire station in Holmfirth. You can either come in by the front door and use the stairs, or come down the slope to the left of the building (where there is also parking), and use the lift at the back of the building.

Can I bring my pram?

Yes! We don’t have lots of rooms for prams, so if it is possible for you to bring a carrier instead it’s appreciated, but no problem if you need to bring a pram. Please use the accessible entrance at the rear of the building (accessed down to the slope to the left of the building), and bring your pram into The Nest. For accessibility reasons, prams and pushchairs can’t be left in corridors.

Do you have parking?

Yes, there is a car park behind the building, accessed down the steep slope to the left of the building. Click here for a Google Maps image of the access point. Go down the slope and go left into the big car park (the spaces immediately at the bottom of the slope are for residents, businesses and those with accessibility needs). Access at the top of the slope is narrow, so if you’re a nervous driver you may wish to park in the Co-op car park. This is a pay-and-display car park with lots of spaces, just a 2 minute walk away.

How do I pay?

We accept cash and card payments can be made by scanning our QR code in The Nest (not the one downstairs in The Tech). If finances are tight for you just now, we do offer some free sessions, and some of our classes and workshops operate on a pay-what-you-can model (including a free option). Contact us if you’d like to find out more about this.

Can I bring food for my little one?

Yes! We have a limited selection of baby snacks available to buy (and some for adults too). However, you’re welcome to bring whatever food you need for your little one and yourself. This can be especially useful if you’re coming to our lunchtime stay and play for example - bring a picnic!

I feel anxious about coming for the first time, can you help?

We completely understand how daunting it can feel visiting somewhere new. Adding a baby into the mix can also add challenges too. Please rest assured there is a warm welcome waiting for you here at The Nest. If you would like to chat with one of us first, or ask some more questions about what to expect, we really welcome you to do this. Please contact us here. We would like to support you to visit The Nest in any way we can.
